A Plea for a Land Reform

Opening conference of the cycle of conferences "Common Ground", organised in collaboration with the University of Luxembourg within the framework of the exhibition "Eise Buedem".

Starting from a historical and contemporary panorama of the different ways of approaching land, the author of Architecture on Common Ground will outline the principles of a possible land reform in Luxembourg and how this would influence architecture and spatial planning.

Florian Hertweck

Architect, professor at the University of Luxembourg

Florian Hertweck is an architect www.studio-hertweck.com and Professor at the University of Luxembourg, where he chairs the master programme “Architecture, European Urbanisation, Globalisation” (www.masterarchitecture.lu). In 2018 he curated, together with Andrea Rumpf, the Luxembourg Pavilion for the 16th Architecture Biennial in Venice, for which he co-edited the accompanying ARCH+ “The Property Issue. Ground Control and the Commons”. In 2020, Hertweck presented, together with Milica Topalovic from ETH Zurich, a territorial design strategy for Greater Geneva 2050. He is currently coordinating a consortium of planners and researchers for the international urban-architectural and landscape consultation “Luxembourg in Transition 2050”.
